Auckland, 25 November 2024.  Mazda Motors of New Zealand is announcing a new addition to the local Mazda CX-60 range.  The new Mazda CX-60 SP Hybrid model variant arrives just in time for the new year. 

As seen with the CX-80, the CX-60 range commences with the new SP grade, combining a powerful 3.3 litre six-cylinder petrol hybrid with appealing levels of equipment.

With a recommended retail price of $69,990 (plus on-road costs), the CX-60 SP Hybrid offers a new and enhanced entry to the CX-60 range.

Highlights of the CX-60 SP Hybrid include leather seat trim (electrically adjustable and with front seat heating), black metallic 20-inch alloy wheels, and LED headlights.  Gloss black exterior mirrors combined with black chrome signature wing and honeycomb front grille.  Power operated tailgate, 360 View Monitor and the innovative Personalisation System are also standard equipment.

The blackout styling theme of the CX-60 SP Hybrid offers a sportier, more distinctive presence compared to that of the outgoing CX-60 Touring, which will be phased out from the local range.

As with the existing range, the CX-60 SP Hybrid is featured with an eight-speed automatic transmission and Mazda’s i-Activ All-Wheel Drive system. Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive) offers multiple drive modes, and a generous 2,500kg braked tow rating to fulfil customer’s demands of their CX-60.

The CX-60 SP Hybrid’s 3,283 cc turbocharged inline-six-cylinder e-Skyactiv G petrol unit is mated to Mazda’s 48V Mild Hybrid System – M Hybrid Boost.  The highly efficient e-Skyactiv G petrol hybrid returns a WLTP average fuel consumption of just 7.9 l/100 km and CO₂ emissions of only 178 g/km, while power and torque figures of 209 kW and 450 Nm offer exhilarating performance in conjunction with the exceptional refinement of a perfectly balanced six-cylinder engine.

Ascending the local line-up, the CX-60 Homura extends a similar visual presence to the SP whilst adding luxurious cabin features such as a Bose audio system, electric steering wheel adjustment, the addition of heated steering wheel and rear seats, along with 360 View Monitor with See-Through View.  A vast panoramic glass sunroof and Adaptive LED headlights complete the package.  CX-60 Homura is available with either a Plug-in Hybrid or 3.3 litre six-cylinder petrol hybrid powertrain.

Headlining the range is the CX-60 Takami.  Available exclusively with the Plug-in Hybrid powertrain, CX-60 Takami expresses Japanese craftmanship and epitomises passion and creativity.  The interior features the sumptuous white Nappa Leather with maple wood inserts throughout the cabin, along with woven cloth with exposed stitching on the instrument panel inserts.
