MAZDA CX-30 JUST RIGHT FOR NEW ZEALAND

In a crowded small SUV segment crying out for a vehicle that clearly differentiates itself from the rest, the First-Ever Mazda CX-30 pairs sleek looks and versatile dimensions with advanced safety and leading technology.

David Hodge, Managing Director Mazda New Zealand, says the company identified a gap in the market for an SUV that would fit between the CX-3, the company’s smallest SUV, and the top selling CX-5.

In the competitive SUV market, the interior of the vehicle needs to deliver on what the exterior promises and the Japanese designers of the CX-30 have emphatically ticked that box. A bit like the Tardis in Doctor Who, the CX-30 interior feels more spacious than would seem possible from outside the vehicle.

To achieve this the designers utilised ma and yohaku, traditional Japanese concepts of space, to create flow and atmosphere in the cabin. Whereas the driver’s zone has a snug, secure character, the passenger area is airy and unconstrained, encouraging relaxation and interaction.

The less is more approach continues in the cabin where the driver cockpit provides a natural, comfortable position with steering wheel, meters and controls all easily visible and accessible. While the passengers enjoy a comfortable, relaxing and spacious environment. To add to the sense of refinement, high quality materials that offer better tactile and visual qualities are used. Control dials have been redesigned so they not only feel more comfortable but also provide a tactile response.

The First-Ever Mazda CX-30 also features the sharp new Mazda Connect infotainment system, with integrated satellite navigation on all grades for convenience, plus phone-mirroring technologies Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, so you can stay connected when you’re on the road.

The Active Driving Display, meters and centre display have all been designed to present information in a clear, simple fashion. The CX-30 adopts an 8.8-inch wide-screen centre display, which offers simple, straightforward operation via the intuitive Commander control.

Whether it is a road trip for adults or taking the children to see family the First-Ever CX-30 provides a high level of comfort which is why Hodge believes the vehicle will have broad appeal to New Zealand motorists.

Available in choice of eight exterior colours and three models - the GSX and GTX grades sport a black/grey cloth trim with a navy/black cabin theme, while the Limited grade offers a black leather trim with a black cabin theme.

The First-Ever Mazda CX-30 is equipped with a choice between the highly efficient Skyactiv-G 2.0L or Skyactiv-G 2.5L petrol engines, available as Front-Wheel-Drive or with Mazda’s i-Activ All-Wheel-Drive system.

The First-Ever Mazda CX-30 is the fifth SUV to join the Mazda New Zealand range, and comes standard with Mazdacare– a commitment Mazda makes to ensure each new vehicle continues to perform in optimum condition. Mazdacare comprises a Mazda Genuine Factory Warranty and Mazda On Call Roadside Assistance for a five-year, unlimited kilometre period and Genuine Mazda Servicing for five years/100,000 km (whichever occurs first) at no extra cost.
