Recall and Service Campaigns – Are imports covered?

I cannot turn off the “Town Entry Point” Announcement
MZD Connect/Mazda Connect Navigation provides a “Town Entry Point” announcement that is repeated up to 4 times when entering certain Towns or Cities.
The purpose of this announcement is to advise drivers that the speed limit will be reducing to a lower speed limit at predetermined points, before the new speed limit is enforced.
Setting Process
Should this announcement be a source of frustration it can be turned off within the Navigation Settings Menu, under “Warning Settings” – Alert Points. Please select and turn “Alert Points” to OFF.
This setting does not affect other warnings such as “Speeding” or “Speed Camera” warnings. These will continue to operate if you have the “Visual and Audible” setting” turned ON. However, please note that the Language Setting must be set to “English AU” within the main “Settings” menu, to set a new or change an existing destination using voice recognition.
Import Manuals
We do not have any manuals for import vehicles. You may use a New Zealand new owner's manual if there is an equivalent (e.g. Mazda2/Demio), however it will only be a guide, and may be missing some detail relevant to your Japanese Import.
What is classified as a Used Mazda Import Vehicle?
Vehicles that come into New Zealand through channels other than via the New Zealand Authorised Mazda Distributor (Mazda Motors of New Zealand Limited). Imports can be sourced from any country but are generally from either Japan, Singapore or Australia.
Typically, the used import vehicle has been registered and used in overseas market with little knowledge of vehicle condition or maintenance history. There are exceptions where vehicles are imported from overseas with little or no mileage on the odometer. They usually come from the Australian market and are purchased by the importer as a statutory write-offs (damaged vehicle).
Are Used Import Vehicles covered by Mazda New Zealand Warranty?
Only vehicles imported new via the New Zealand Authorised Mazda Distributor (Mazda Motors of New Zealand Limited) are covered by new vehicle warranty.
For used import vehicles from Japan (or other markets), there is no warranty or goodwill support outside of the country of origin.
The only exception (by prior arrangement) are immigrants or returning New Zealanders from Australia importing their own personal vehicle. They must also be the original owner and have purchased the vehicle new from a Mazda Dealership in Australia. (NZTA rules apply https://www.nzta.govt.nz/vehicles/importing-a-vehicle/exceptions/immigrants-vehicles/)
Any imports from Australia other than above, be it a statutory write off, commercially or privately imported used or new vehicle, are not subject to warranty support in New Zealand.
